About the Role

Gray Healthcare is recruiting a Male Support Worker to support an individual living independently in his own home in Salford. He receives 2:1 support, 24 hours a day, from a consistent male support team working day shifts and sleep shifts.

This role is centred on supporting independence, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful engagement. The individual enjoys fitness, going to the gym, accessing the community, and football.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as the individual has access to a mobility vehicle.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the individual to live safely and independently
  • Promoting routine, structure, and meaningful activity
  • Following person-centred support plans and risk assessments
  • Using calm, consistent, and least restrictive approaches
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and responding to distress
  • Building a professional and trusting relationship
  • Working as part of a skilled team

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in health and social care
  • Experience supporting behaviours of distress
  • Ability to adapt communication to individual needs
  • Calm, resilient, and consistent approach
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care

Working Hours

  • 36-hour contract
  • 3 x 12-hour day shifts (8am–8pm)
  • 1 sleep shift per week (paid)
