Gray Construction is seeking a VDC Engineer I based in the Lexington, KY or Atlanta, GA, office.

Who we want… (Requirements)
The new team member is required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a degree from a Technical College; and 5 years in the AEC industry; experience in the Field and/or MEP is preferred. Must have knowledge of Autodesk Design Suite; knowledge of programs such as Assemble, Fuzor and similar programs is preferred. Have an advanced understanding of construction principles.
Must possess advanced computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite and e-mail. The selected candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Capable of independent thought and work. Must be physically present in the Lexington, KY area. Our Projects are nationwide. 10% travel will be required.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)
The primary role of the VDC Engineer is to facilitate the successful implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling), technology and the related processes. The VDC Engineer role is a key position in the VDC group, focused on managing and producing models. Primarily the VDC Engineer creates, obtains, evaluates, coordinates, and distributes 3D and 4D BIM models for use by construction. Work as part of the Gray teams, interacting with owners, architects and engineers to facilitate collaboration and communication during preconstruction through use of BIM/VDC processes.
Works as part of the Gray teams, interacting with subcontractors, architects and software vendors, to facilitate collaboration and communication during construction through use of BIM/VDC processes. The VDC Engineer will be responsible for managing one project at once independently and contributing to research and development efforts. This role helps ensures project success.
