We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst II in our Lexington, KY office.

What we expect (essential functions)

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI.
  • Design and implement data models using star schema principles to optimize report performance and usability.
  • Write advanced SQL queries to clean, transform, and validate data for reporting.
  • Apply DAX to create dynamic and calculated measures, enhancing report functionality.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in reports and data models, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain a catalog of reports and dashboards, documenting descriptions, intended audience, key metrics, and usage instructions.
  • Contribute to the business-facing data catalog by logging newly created reports and ensuring proper metadata tagging.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Document workflows, requirements, and processes to ensure consistency and reproducibility.
  • Begin informing database design decisions in collaboration with Data Engineers, ensuring alignment with reporting objectives.

We are looking for a capable and proactive Data Analyst II to join our growing analytics team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a solid foundation in data analysis and reporting and are ready to take on more advanced responsibilities, including creating impactful dashboards, collaborating with stakeholders, and optimizing data models.

As a Data Analyst II , you will design and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI while ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will work on data transformations, troubleshoot issues, and begin contributing to the design and optimization of data models.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a data-related role with hands-on experience in BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating calculated measures and columns in Power BI reports.
  • Advanced understanding of SQL for querying and transforming data.
  • Familiarity with star schema design and its application in reporting.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience with GIT for version control preferred (creating branches, making commits, and managing pull requests).
  • Familiarity with VS Code and Azure DevOps for project collaboration preferred.
  • Experience with Tabular Editor 3 for advanced data modeling and report optimization preferred.
  • Exposure to Power Platform tools such as Power Automate or Logic Apps preferred.
  • Knowledge of data governance and security principles.
