Job Specification – Repair / Service Workshop Operative.

Gray & Adams (Ireland) Ltd is currently seeking both a Repair and Service Workshop Operative to join its Newtownabbey team. The overall purpose of the job is to service and repair refrigerated trailers and bodies in accordance with company standards and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are seeking to establish their career within a market leading, progressive company.

Gray & Adams is the UK’s market leader in the manufacture of specialist temperature-controlled and bespoke vehicles. Established in 1957, we are a long-standing, family-owned business dedicated to meeting the unique needs of our customers and fostering the development of our workforce.

Key Job Requirements :

  • Undertake servicing and repairs on commercial trailers and tail-lifts in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Deliver high quality workmanship with attention to detail.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to company Health and Safety policies.
  • Achieve and maintain proficiency in all aspects of body building and servicing as per company procedures.

The successful applicant must:

  • Be mechanically minded and proficient in hands-on working.
  • Have the ability to complete work within required deadlines and allocated hours.
  • Possess basic knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety within a working environment.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours when required.
  • Be willing to learn different skills and undertake training as required.
  • Have a driving license.

Preference may be given to those applicants who have:

  • City & Guilds Craft Certificate / completed NVQ 3 in Engineering.
  • Manufacturer certificate to service commercial vehicle / trailer suspensions.
  • Knowledge of commercial trailers / tail-lifts.
