Transport Manager
Dual Site role - Colchester & Rochford
Our client owns and manages a fleet of circa 300 vehicles that are a combination of vehicle transporters and plant machinery along with LGV Class 1 and 2 Drivers.

We are looking for a Transport Manager to join their established management team, working across their Rochford and Colchester Operation Centres. Their Operation Centres are open Monday to Friday 8am 5pm - with more benefits that you know what to do with and up to 25 days paid leave why not apply?
The Transport Manager is responsible for leading and coaching our Transport teammates, to ensure Company and customer expectations are met.
This role is responsible for the compliance and efficient management of the transport function within the Operation Centres. The successful candidate must have a CPC (National or International) as they will be expected to be named on the Operators Licence, becoming the principal Operators Licence holder.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- People Leadership Recruiting, inducting, Coaching, and developing the transport team to succeed and grow.
- Drive Operational Service Ensure the day-to-day transport function operates in line with service level agreements with the support of the General Manager.
- Drive Continuous Improvement challenge the norm, fostering a culture of looking forward way to improve the operation.
- Cross functional working Actively builds relationships across the Operation Centre and wider business in a way which ensure support is available and performance isnt hindered or negatively impacted.
- Legalities and compliance Ensure that all fleet vehicles and teammates are compliant with all legal, regulatory and contractual compliance including Drivers Hours and working Time Directive with the support of the Regional Transport Manager.
