The senior technical lead for Gravity Media’s in house .

NET booking platform.

You’ll own the application architecture and engineering standards, lead the more significant design and integration decisions and help the team maintain a reliable, secure and supportable platform.

You’ll work closely with the Head of System Development on priorities and with Group IT where the platform depends on wider technology services.

  • What you’ll be responsible for
  • Own and maintain the application architecture and technical roadmap for the booking platform, ensuring it remains scalable, supportable, secure and aligned with business requirements.
  • Set and maintain software engineering standards covering design, coding, testing, code review, release quality, documentation and technical governance.
  • Lead the design of significant application changes and third party integrations, ensuring solutions are resilient, properly documented and do not create unnecessary reliance on one person or system.
  • Assess the available technical options and trade offs, including build versus buy considerations, and provide clear recommendations to the Head of System Development and relevant stakeholders.
  • Own technical debt management and platform lifecycle considerations, identifying risks, priorities and investment requirements.
  • Give final or delegated technical approval for high risk application changes and releases and ensure appropriate quality and rollback controls are in place.
  • Oversee application level CI/CD and Dev Ops practices in partnership with the Dev Ops Engineer, ensuring they operate within Group IT infrastructure, security and access standards.
  • Act as the senior engineering interface with Group IT on enterprise architecture, hosting, infrastructure, cyber security, identity/access, resilience and shared technology dependencies.
  • Lead technical engagement with third party application vendors, ERP providers and integration partners, working with the Head of System Development on priorities, commercial considerations and supplier performance.
  • Make sure technical knowledge is shared across the team, ensuring architecture, integration and operational knowledge is documented and understood across the team.
  • Coach and mentor developers, set expectations for technical quality and create an engineering environment that supports learning, constructive challenge and continuous improvement.
  • Deputise for the Head of System Development on technical planning, prioritisation and stakeholder engagement when required.
  • Contribute to estimates, delivery plans and risk assessment and resource/skills and resource planning for the software engineering roadmap.
  • Set clear standards for using AI assisted engineering tools, balancing productivity with security, quality, intellectual property and human review requirements.

Requirements

  • Deep C#/. NET expertise and significant experience designing and supporting production applications that are important to the business.
  • Experience owning application architecture and leading significant technical design decisions.
  • Strong systems integration experience, ideally including Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP platform.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering governance, secure development, automated testing, CI/CD and release management.
  • Experience leading or technically guiding software engineering teams, including mentoring senior and developing engineers.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical decisions, risks and trade offs clearly to senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and confidence working with vendors and technical partners.
  • Commercial awareness, including the ability to consider cost, value, risk, supportability and longer term implications in technical decisions.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation, problem solving and documentation skills.
