I'm partnering with one of the UK's most visited digital platforms to find a rare kind of engineering leader - someone with a builder's mindset, deep AI fluency, and the credibility to influence across an organisation. This is a founding-team-energy role. You'll lead the AI Enablement team, the group responsible for helping hundreds of product and engineering colleagues adopt AI-native tools, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted delivery - safely, effectively, and at scale. If you're obsessed with making engineering teams dramatically more productive through AI, and you want to do it somewhere with real scale and real impact, read on.

What you'll own:

  • Leading a small, high-impact team building and operating production AI agents and workflows - systems handling hundreds of thousands of prompts.
  • Partnering across product and engineering to remove adoption friction and embed governed AI practices at scale.
  • Shaping internal AI platform patterns: AI-assisted planning, test generation, documentation automation, incident assistance, SSDLC agents, and more.
  • Staying close to the code - reading PRs, pairing on hard problems, contributing to design docs and automation.
  • Translating complex AI concepts for non-technical stakeholders and keeping delivery predictable.
  • Coaching and growing engineers who want to move fast and build great things.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience leading engineering teams that build and scale end-to-end production systems.
  • Deep, current knowledge of the AI tooling and agentic workflow landscape and how it delivers value in the product development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and evaluation frameworks (LangChain, Claude, Gemini, Codex, or similar).
  • The ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences - you translate, influence, and build trust.
  • A leadership style that pairs high standards with genuine empathy; you drive urgency without burning people out.
  • Bonus points if you've shipped agentic AI systems in production at scale.
