Principal Consultant (HESA & Registry) | £67K – £70K | Remote
We are thrilled to be partnering with an organisation who are in the market for a Statutory Returns SME/Consultant to provide leadership and guidance to a team of 4 consultants.
The Role
This is a newly created opportunity, most of the current Principal Consultants have been promoted internally and the role is pivotal to company\’s new growth and strategy. This is not a developer role, rather an advisory position where you act as an SME supporting universities embed best processes and solutions.
About the Role
- 70% leadership & coaching, 30% billable consulting, guiding a team of 4 consultants (with scope to grow) while still keeping hands-on with delivery.
- Oversee projects in student lifecycle and statutory reporting, ensuring services align with Tribal’s best practice standards.
- Act as a mentor and role model, helping consultants develop both technically and commercially.
- Salary in the £65k–£70k range (with some flexibility for the right candidate) + strong benefits.
Why consider making the move?
- Instead of supporting one institution, you’ll have the chance to influence multiple universities and shape sector-wide best practice.
- You’ll gain exposure to complex, high-profile projects, implementations, migrations, and transformation programmes, that you wouldn’t typically see internally.
- Tribal offers clear career progression and development within a growing business, with opportunities to shape your role as the consultancy team expands.
- You’ll develop stronger commercial and strategic skills, becoming the expert that universities call on for advice and delivery.
- And of course, there’s the benefit of enhanced rewards and recognition that comes with working vendor-side.
What we need to see:
- Strong experience with student record systems (Tribal SITS and understanding of HESA Returns)
- Managing a small-medium sized team and good track record of delivering projects successfully
- Strong understanding of the student lifecycle and higher education as a sector
- Strong communication & customer service skills
- Excellent stakeholder management
What we would like to see:
- Experience managing development team
- Technical development background (Ideally with SITS)
Target Start Date: ASAP (Flexible) but can wait for the right candidate up to 3 months.
Interviews will be taking place w/c 6th of October. If you are interested apply today or get in touch with Yaf Okubet on y.okubet@gravitasgroup.com for an informal chat.
