We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Designer to join a leading utilities organisation on a 3‑month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about crafting intuitive and impactful digital experiences that drive user engagement and optimize performance. The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in UX/UI principles, user research methodologies, A/B testing and CRO techniques.
You will be responsible for enhancing user journeys through data‑driven design and insightful experimentation. As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the product’s user experience and design direction. You’ll work cross‑functionally with product managers, developers, researchers, and other key stakeholders to deliver design solutions that meet both user needs and business goals. You should possess strong visual design skills and be comfortable taking concepts from ideation to prototype through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct quantitative and qualitative user research to inform and validate design decisions
- Utilise A/B testing and other CRO techniques to evaluate and optimise digital experiences
- Design wireframes, prototypes, and user flows that prioritise user needs and business objectives
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including developers and UX researchers
- Advocate for design best practices and maintain consistency across design systems
- Analyse user data to generate actionable insights for improving product usability
- Work within agile teams, adapting to varying project scopes and timelines
- Proven experience as a Product Designer or UX/UI Designer within digital environments
- Strong expertise in user research, usability testing, and iterative design processes
- Hands‑on experience conducting A/B tests and applying CRO strategies
- Excellent design software skills (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to interpret user data effectively
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in the utilities sector is advantageous but not essential
- Availability to work in a hybrid capacity from either London or Leeds
This opportunity is offered outside IR35 and is ideal for a contractor or freelance designer looking to work on impactful digital products within the utilities space. Immediate availability is highly desirable.
