We are currently partnering with a Social Housing provider to recruit an experienced Data Governance Manager to lead a team of Data Governance Business Partners on a short-term contract basis. Based in the United Kingdom, the successful candidate will oversee the daily activities of the Data Governance team, ensuring compliance with the UK Data Protection Act (UKDPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Day-to-day responsibilities will include mentoring and management of the team, reviewing and refining internal processes and procedures, and identifying quick wins that can be implemented efficiently. You\’ll also be required to evaluate current governance approaches and develop recommendations for longer-term improvements. While hands-on data experience isnβt essential, a background in managing or having been exposed to modern data practices, auditing, and reporting through PowerBI is highly desirable.
Essential skills and experience include:
- Strong understanding of UKDPA, GDPR, and internal audit practices
- Experience leading data governance and compliance professionals
- Solid grasp of data quality improvement and performance metrics
- Knowledge of Mimecast and Office 365 environments
Highly desirable:
- Experience with data cleansing initiatives
- Sector-specific knowledge of social housing governance needs
- Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and dashboard creation
