A growing advisory division within a global insurance group is seeking a Nat Cat Exposure Analyst to join its expanding team. The company is dedicated to delivering strategic insights and innovative solutions for the (re)insurance industry, fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking culture. The position is vital in ensuring accurate exposure data analysis and modelling to support growth and strategic decision-making within the organization.

Role Overview

The purpose of this role is to assist in shaping and delivering the exposure management strategy for a key Funds at Lloyd’s business, focusing on nat-cat classes such as Property and Marine. The analyst will work with senior leaders and collaborate across multiple functions to enhance data quality, interpret modelling outputs, and support reporting and analytics that inform underwriting and risk appetite.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of and experience in the insurance industry and analytics space
  • Hands-on experience manipulating large datasets and running vendor catastrophe models (RMS and/or Verisk preferred)
  • Background in accumulation control and understanding of catastrophe model components
  • Familiarity with Lloyd’s reporting frameworks including LCM and RDS
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and strategic outlook
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SQL and automation coding desirable
  • Relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Geography, Engineering)

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve the quality, completeness, and flow of exposure data
  • Model and interpret catastrophe exposure results across multiple lines of business
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements (e.g., RDS, LCM, stress testing)
  • Oversee the production of regular utilisation and analytics reports to inform underwriting strategies
  • Identify and address data and model limitations
  • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses
  • Support risk appetite setting and exposure management documentation
  • Collaborate with underwriting, operations, and wider teams to ensure exposure management supports organisational growth

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant experience in insurance analytics or exposure management
  • On-site availability with a hybrid working environment
  • Knowledge of Lloyd’s reporting frameworks
  • Experience with catastrophe models and large datasets
