Role Overview
This role is integral to supporting the organisation’s AWS cloud programme, combining data engineering, AWS platform engineering, and production support. The Senior AWS Engineer will lead the development of data solutions, support ongoing systems, and promote automation and best practices within the team.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, Athena, RDS, and CloudWatch
- Proficiency in Python and Terraform for automation and infrastructure management
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, or GitLab
- Data modelling and SQL expertise
- Knowledge of event‑driven architectures involving Kinesis, ActiveMQ, or RabbitMQ
- Experience with EKS and EC2 platforms
- Ability to monitor, support, and optimise cloud and data platforms
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable AWS data pipelines and integration platforms
- Develop and support real‑time and batch data solutions
- Support production systems, ensuring platform reliability and performance
- Lead automation initiatives through Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices
