A Lloyd’s‑focused insurance platform is seeking a Head of Non‑Nat Cat Research to lead research and view‑of‑risk capability across multiple Lloyd’s syndicates, supporting underwriting, capital, and regulatory objectives. This is a senior role within the Lloyd’s market, working closely with exposure management leadership and syndicate stakeholders to shape non‑nat cat and man‑made risk insight, governance, and model strategy in line with Lloyd’s Principles‑Based Oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead non‑nat cat view of risk across multiple Lloyd’s syndicates
- Manage model validation and model change activity across internal and vendor models
- Assess peril materiality, data quality, and model limitations
- Deliver sensitivity testing, stress scenarios, and impact analysis
- Produce high‑quality analysis and documentation for Lloyd’s and internal stakeholders
- Support underwriting strategy through credible, well‑articulated research
- Enhance research and modelling frameworks aligned to Lloyd’s PBO expectations
Experience Required
- Strong experience within the Lloyd’s syndicate market in catastrophe modelling, exposure management, or related research roles
- Good working knowledge of Lloyd’s reporting and governance frameworks (e.g. View of Risk, Validation, LCM, RDS)
- Hands‑on experience with large datasets and vendor cat models (Verisk exposure advantageous)
- Confident communicator able to influence senior underwriting and risk stakeholders
