Role Overview
The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions within the organisation’s cloud environment, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver scalable, AI-driven data workflows.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong Python programming skills
- Hands-on experience with Azure stack and cloud data lake platforms
- Familiarity with layered architectures such as medallion/bronze-silver-gold models (Azure Synapse, Databricks, or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- An AI-first approach and stakeholder engagement skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain cloud-based data platforms and layered architectures
- Manage and optimise Azure Synapse, Databricks, or equivalent tools
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
- Mentor and upskill junior and mid-level engineers
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data solutions and support business needs
- Integrate AI or LLM capabilities into data workflows and tooling
- Assist in migrating or re-platforming data estates as necessary
Requirements
