We are currently partnering with a university that is recruiting a Student Data Analyst to support a fast‑moving period of change as they prepare their data for analytics. This role requires adaptability, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work with complex, evolving data structures. You will use SQL extensively and apply your SITS back‑end expertise to support the preparation. This is an opportunity that will give you visibility across the business users including senior management team in order to allow:

Essential Technical Skills

  • Strong SQL Server experience, with excellent usage of SQL including data extraction, transformation, and cleansing
  • Experience working with Student Record Systems (SRS) - Deep understanding of SITS back‑end data structures
  • Proven experience preparing data for analytics using large‑scale datasets
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and relational database principles

Essential Experience

  • Experience working within the Higher Education (HE) sector
  • Hands‑on experience with SITS or another enterprise‑level student records platform
  • Ability to interpret and work with bespoke or non‑standard system configurations
  • Experience supporting system changes, data transitions, or platform transformations

Essential Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Strong problem‑solving capability and comfort working with ambiguity
  • Ability to manage workload independently across multiple priorities
  • Collaborative approach with internal teams and external suppliers

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to integrations or API‑based data flows
  • PHP or similar scripting languages
  • Knowledge of HESA returns
  • Familiarity with SSRS or Power BI
  • Experience with other student record systems (e.g., Banner)
