We're a team with big ambitions, both for what we want to achieve and for the culture we are building. For that reason, we are looking for a Business Development Consultant to join us and be a part of a people-focused business, harnessing empowerment and engaged relationships. The ideal candidate will have extremely strong communication and ERP skills while being technically focused, leveraging both functional knowledge and having a passion for client engagement. Priority will be given to UK-based candidates due to on-site engagements.

As a Business Development Consultant at Gravitai, you will be vital to fostering long-term client success across your designated territory. As a proactive end-client relationship builder and strategic coordinator, you will take responsibility for managing existing client accounts, identifying further upsell and growth opportunities, and ensuring that Gravitai's services continue to add value throughout the customer lifecycle. You will play a key role in guiding clients toward new service lines, Odoo module adoption, and strategic business initiatives and liaise with the Head of Business Development and furthermore, our BDMs (Business Development Managers) to drive new and existing business.

This role demands an approach that combines strong commercial awareness with client-focused professionalism. Exceptional communication, project awareness, and multi-stakeholder coordination are critical, as you'll liaise between clients, consultants, and internal teams to surface new needs and unlock service value. With Gravitai operating as an Odoo Partner, an understanding of ERP project life cycles, Odoo modules, and business operations will be essential to helping clients grow within the platform. Having technical-based knowledge or understanding of Odoo or similar systems will greatly benefit any applicant in being successful.

Our Business Development Consultants undertake key business responsibilities to match their day-to-day activities and operations while at Gravitai. Any successful employee within the role will have specific responsibilities to adhere towards, investing their skillset and knowledge within their role and ultimately further supporting their department in critical requirements and needs, in addition to developing their team both mentally and professionally.

  • Effective Business Relationship Management
    • Act as a strategic point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring satisfaction and proactive engagement.
    • Monitor client usage and experience across Odoo modules, identifying inefficiencies or optimisation opportunities.
    • Build and maintain trust through regular check-ins, account reviews, and solution-led conversations.
    • Collaborate with internal delivery teams to ensure service continuity and alignment with client goals.
    • Handle internal escalation and issue resolution on behalf of your accounts with professionalism and care.
  • Strategic Growth & Upsell Support
    • Identify potential upsell or cross-sell opportunities through client conversations and usage data.
    • Support account planning sessions with the sales and consulting teams to propose value-added service enhancements.
    • Introduce clients to additional Odoo modules or professional services that could improve their operations.
    • Ensure seamless handover and transition from new implementations into ongoing account management.
    • Provide strategic guidance on new service lines, features, or solution upgrades aligned with business goals.
  • Technically Focused
    • Have the ability to comprehend business requirements on a technical level to provide a comprehensive understanding of functionality.
    • Identify the functionality associated with ERP systems or equivalent.
    • Support clients in business adoption while mapping to system functionalities.
    • Be aware of the relevant technical jargon that arises in such business transformation projects.
  • Time & Stakeholder Management
    • Schedule and facilitate regular client reviews, roadmap sessions, and health checks, including QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews).
    • Prioritise internal coordination to support the needs and expectations of multiple accounts.
    • Monitor project timelines and key delivery milestones to align with account development.
    • Maintain client records, meeting notes, and follow-up actions within Odoo CRM or equivalent systems.
    • Use insight-driven account dashboards to manage key touchpoints and renewals.
  • Confidentiality, Professionalism & Support
    • Handle sensitive information related to clients' operations, data, and systems with discretion.
    • Understand ERP-specific client needs (e.g. compliance, financial workflows, supply chain systems).
    • Coordinate with service leads to track renewals, SLA fulfilment, and support requirements alongside the Head of Business Development.
    • Maintain a high standard of responsiveness and reliability, representing the Gravitai brand at every interaction.
  • Collaboration, Culture & Communication
    • Act as an internal advocate for client priorities during internal planning and strategy sessions.
    • Support cross-departmental collaboration by aligning product, technical, and service conversations when and where relevant.
    • Champion client feedback internally and contribute to product or service development discussions.
    • Uphold a positive team culture, supporting colleagues across sales, services, and customer success.
    • Promote Gravitai’s mission and values across your accounts with integrity and consistency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a client-facing or account management position (minimum 2 years).
  • Experience in the Software Development sector at either an SME or Enterprise level, including delivery life cycle.
  • Proven experience in scaling technology or SaaS-based businesses.
  • Experience supporting clients in the software or professional services sectors.
  • Odoo certified.

Hard Skillsets

  • Odoo framework knowledge.
  • ERP knowledge, such as SAP, Oracle Dynamics or industry equivalent.
  • Use of client success tools or CRM platforms to manage pipelines and interactions (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including reports and client briefings.
  • Project coordination or milestone tracking tools (e.g. Trello, Asana, Monday.com).
  • Proficient in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Google Workspace.
  • Data interpretation skills to identify trends and support account planning.
  • Wider knowledge of ERP implementation life cycles and technical design patterns.
  • Understanding of business technical demands across varied industries.
