The Role
As Partner, Head of London Corporate Tax at Gravita, you will take ownership of our London Corporate Tax platform, leading a well-established team and helping shape the next stage of growth for the service line. This is a leadership role with a clear commercial and people mandate. You will be responsible for setting direction, maintaining high technical and client service standards, developing the London team and helping to grow a stronger advisory offering for ambitious SME clients. You won’t be starting from scratch. The Corporate Tax team already has a substantial client base, a strong compliance foundation and a clear opportunity to build further advisory depth. Working closely with the Head of Corporate Tax, wider Tax leadership, clients, marketing, sales and other specialist teams across Gravita, you will play a meaningful role in converting that ambition into sustainable client work, stronger delivery capacity and a broader advisory offering.
Key Responsibilities:
- London Leadership & Growth: Lead the London Corporate Tax platform, setting direction, standards and priorities while working closely with other senior leaders in the firm. Take responsibility for the London Corporate Tax book, helping to set targets, manage performance and deliver sustainable growth. Support the continued development of the Corporate Tax service line, including the ambition to grow both London and wider group fees over the next three years.
- Client Relationship Management: Own and deepen relationships with key London Corporate Tax clients, acting as a trusted senior advisor. Advise clients clearly and commercially on Corporate Tax matters, particularly where technical tax issues connect to wider business decisions. Identify opportunities to provide further support to existing clients, working collaboratively across Gravita’s broader service lines.
- Complex Delivery & Advisory: Lead complex Corporate Tax engagements and advisory matters, ensuring quality, compliance and clear commercial judgement across client work. Oversee senior review, risk management, delivery standards and deadlines across the London team. Help continue the shift from a primarily compliance-led platform to a broader, higher-value advisory offering for growing SME clients.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with Gravita’s growth strategy and client base. Contribute to pitches, proposals, articles, events and market-facing activity to strengthen Gravita’s Corporate Tax presence. Work with colleagues across audit, accounts, advisory, sales and marketing to develop joined-up client opportunities.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Lead, coach and develop the London Corporate Tax team, building confidence, capability and consistency as the service line grows. Share technical knowledge and practical guidance with qualified and trainee colleagues. Create a positive, high-performing team culture where people are supported, challenged and able to do their best work.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, with significant post-qualification experience in Corporate Tax.
- Proven experience in a senior Corporate Tax role, ideally at Partner level or as a Director ready to step into Partner-level ownership.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK Corporate Tax, with the ability to lead complex compliance and advisory work.
- Experience managing client relationships at a senior level, with the judgement to give clear, practical and commercially grounded advice.
- Credible business development experience, including winning new work, deepening client relationships or contributing to market-facing activity.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience coaching, developing and bringing the best out of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing and tech-enabled environment, with a practical interest in improving how work is delivered.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work closely with senior colleagues, clients and wider teams across the firm.
