The Role
We’re looking for an Associate to join our Exeter team in a dual role across Operations and Places (office operations). This is an office based role, working 5 days a week from the Exeter office. Alongside running key operational processes and supporting the day-to-day office environment, you’ll play an active role in improving how things work: identifying inefficiencies, suggesting better approaches, and supporting the use of data, technology and AI to make our operations more effective. You’ll be a key part of the local team, acting as a go-to problem solver and coordinator, while also contributing to wider initiatives across the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Operations (approx. 50%)
- Managing client on-boarding processes, including AML and KYC checks
- Preparing and managing Letters of Engagement and disengagement documentation
- Setting up and maintaining accurate client records across systems
- Supporting client-facing teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
- Acting as a central point of coordination to resolve issues and keep work moving
- Places / Exeter office (approx. 50%)
- Ensuring the office runs smoothly and professionally day-to-day
- Acting as the first point of contact for clients and visitors
- Coordinating meetings, rooms, hospitality and diaries
- Managing suppliers, office supplies and facilities
- Supporting local engagement activities and events
- Maintaining records and supporting Health & Safety processes
- Improving how we operate
- Spotting inefficiencies or friction in existing processes
- Suggesting and supporting improvements (including automation and use of AI tools)
- Helping to build or maintain simple reporting to track activity and performance
- Contributing to firmwide initiatives (e.g. onboarding improvements, data projects, LoE refreshes)
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone starting their career who enjoys organisation, problem-solving and working with people. You’ll play a key role in keeping our Exeter office running smoothly while supporting important client operations behind the scenes. You don’t need years of experience, we’re looking for someone with the right mindset: proactive, curious, organised and excited to learn.
You will:
- Be ambitious, driven, and motivated to challenge the status quo
- Value strong relationships built on integrity, trust, and collaboration
- Communicate confidently, respectfully, and openly to feedback
- Take ownership, solve problems proactively, and follow tasks through to completion
- Be naturally curious and interested in improving systems, processes, and ways of working
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Be adaptable and open to change, new technologies, and continuous learning
