The Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a background in accountancy or professional services to support a firm-wide transformation programme focused on upgrading or migrating core business systems. This role will shape and implement the future operational ecosystem, including practice management systems (PMS) , document management systems (DMS) , client portals , and finance platforms .
You will act as the bridge between internal stakeholders and technology teams—translating business needs into clear requirements, mapping processes, and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead requirements gathering for key business systems
- Facilitate workshops with internal teams to understand user needs and pain points
- Document current and future processes, user journeys, data flows, and system touchpoints
- Identify dependencies and integration needs across systems
- Support vendor selection through RFPs, demos, and evaluations
- Collaborate with xxx to ensure successful delivery of technology changes
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and contractual obligations
If extended beyond 3 months
- Define test scenarios, support UAT, and drive adoption
- Identify risks and propose mitigations
- Develop training materials, business readiness plans, and communications
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in professional services or accountancy
- Deep understanding of practice management , document management , and onboarding systems
- Knowledge of platforms like client portals , time & billing , finance systems , and workflow engines
- Experience with system migrations , data migration, and change management
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
- Comfortable with agile and waterfall methodologies
- Experience with systems like CCH, IRIS, Xero Practice Manager, Silverfin, Caseware, SharePoint, or similar
- Exposure to compliance frameworks, risk registers, or internal audit processes
- Understanding of data security and document retention best practices in accountancy
