The Role

As an Accounts Senior Associate, you are responsible for preparing advanced statutory financial statements, corporation tax computations, and other compliance deliverables for a portfolio of clients, under the supervision of managers, demonstrating strong technical knowledge. Senior Associates are expected to support Associates and other junior staff through coaching and review, contribute to process improvements, and maintain high standards of accuracy and client service.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare complex accounts and tax returns accurately for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, and limited companies in accordance with UK GAAP, requiring minimal supervision and with few review points.

    • Draft proposed resolutions for non-complex technical issues using self-directed research and available tools, submitting these for manager review.
    • Complete all work within allocated time frames and budgets, proactively flagging any issues that may affect timelines. Ensure system workflows are updated at every stage of the process.
    • Seek and act on feedback, aiming to minimise technical review points on non-complex accounts and continuously improve quality.
    • Conduct initial reviews of simpler accounts and tax files prepared by Associates and offshore teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Liaise with clients to secure timely receipt of information necessary for preparing complex accounts and provide support during client meetings when needed.
    • Contribute to business development by engaging with company marketing activities (e.g. proposals, newsletters, LinkedIn posts) and identify potential cross-selling referral opportunities to discuss with relevant managers/teams.
    • Begin to build a professional network through relevant professional activities such as attending occasional external events and developing a LinkedIn presence.
    • Act as a positive representative of Gravita, consistently demonstrating company values in your work, communication, and interactions with others.
  • People / Team Management
    • Support the training and development of Associates as required to build team capability.
