We are seeking an exceptional leader to take charge of our Regulatory Services, which include Environmental Health and our shared Licensing service with Medway Council. This is a rare opportunity to shape services that protect public health, support local businesses, and improve life for residents.

About the role

As Regulatory Services Manager, you will:

• Oversee the operational delivery and performance of Environmental Health and Licensing.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on quality, efficiency, and customer experience.
• Work with partners and other Council teams to meet organisational, performance, and financial targets.
• Ensure full compliance with legislation and raise regulatory standards across the borough.

About you

You will combine professional expertise with proven leadership skills, including:

• A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Environmental Health.
• In-depth knowledge and competence in at least one specialist area of Environmental Health.
• Awareness of all Environmental Health and Licensing service areas.
• Strong communication, leadership, and partnership abilities.
• A current understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Environmental Health, Licensing, and local government.

• Salary: £57,126 to £63,395 (including allowances)
