We are looking for an outstanding teacher to join our Music Department from September 2026. You will primarily teach trombone in a one-to-one setting, with the flexibility to teach other lower brass instruments where needed. You will support the department at concerts and, if available, ensemble rehearsals during the school day. The position includes 31 weeks of lessons across three terms (11 weeks autumn, 10 weeks spring, 10 weeks summer).

Responsibilities

  • Teach one day per week (5 hours) in a one-to-one setting during term time.
  • Provide lessons in trombone and other lower brass instruments as demand requires.
  • Support the Music Department at concerts and ensemble rehearsals.
  • Contribute to the wider musical life of the school.
  • Prepare students for examinations.

Qualifications

  • A music degree, diploma, or relevant experience.
  • Experience teaching a wide range of musical backgrounds and abilities, from beginners to Grade 8 and beyond.
  • Experience preparing students for exams.
  • Strong knowledge of lower brass technique.
  • Desire to work as part of an enthusiastic team.
