We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong team leadership skills and a compassionate approach to resident care. This role involves supervising care staff, developing and implementing care plans, and ensuring the highest standards of resident wellbeing. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital part in fostering a supportive environment where residents feel valued and cared for.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and assistance to residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene tasks, meal preparation, and assisting at meal times.
- Support individuals in maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Assist with medication reminders and administration, carry out weekly medication audits.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals.
- Accompany individuals to appointments or outings, as needed.
- Document and report any changes in individuals' condition or behaviour and action this as appropriate.
- Support deputy/manager in day to day running of the home.
- Work as part of a multi-agency team to support residents' needs.
- Support care staff in their day to day job role, ensuring a positive professional approach at all times.
- Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring high-quality care delivery at all times.
- Develop, review, and update personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and families.
- Maintain clear communication with residents, relatives, and team members to ensure all needs are met effectively.
- Organise and participate in staff training sessions to promote best practices in elder care.
- Monitor the safety and wellbeing of residents, reporting any concerns promptly.
- Assist with administrative tasks using IT systems to document care activities accurately.
- Support the organisation of activities that promote residents' physical and mental wellbeing.
