Are you an experienced Fire & Security Engineer looking for a varied field-based role covering commercial, education and infrastructure sites across the M1 corridor? Our client is looking to recruit a skilled Fire & Security Engineer to join their established engineering team, supporting service, maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, small works and installation activity across a range of fire and security systems. This is a permanent opportunity offering strong earning potential, overtime, paid travel, a company van, healthcare and ongoing technical development.
The priority for this role is strong security systems experience, particularly IP CCTV, intruder alarms and door entry/access control systems. Applicants will also need practical experience working with fire alarm systems, with the ability to fault-find, maintain and carry out repairs to a good technical standard.
- Carrying out service, maintenance, fault-finding, repairs and small works across fire and security systems
- Working on CCTV systems, including IP and analogue systems, as well as intruder alarms, access control and door entry systems
- Maintaining and repairing fire alarm systems across commercial, education and other client sites
- Completing risk assessments, method statements and job reports accurately
- Undertaking minor associated installation or making-good tasks where required
- Maintaining company vehicle stock, tools, equipment and records in line with company procedures
- Participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota, currently around 1 week in 12
Experience as a Fire & Security Engineer, Security Engineer or similar field-based systems role. Strong working knowledge of IP CCTV, intruder alarm and door entry/access control systems. Practical experience maintaining, fault-finding and repairing fire alarm systems. Good understanding of health and safety requirements, site working practices and risk management. Full UK driving licence. Experience with gates, barriers, disabled refuge systems or nurse call systems would be beneficial, although training can be provided where required.
Salary and Benefits: The role offers a salary of £21£24 per hour, equivalent to approximately £42,680£49,920 per annum, with travel paid after the first 30 minutes each way. Overtime is available at enhanced rates, with evenings paid at 1.5x and late shifts/weekends paid at 2x. Benefits include company van and fuel, laptop, mobile, tools, pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays, overtime opportunities and paid call-out rota allowance.
