Our client, a specialist scientific consultancy, is looking for a Senior Analyst to join their team due to their continued expansion. This will be a hands-on role within the labs, using mass spectrometry techniques to perform specialist analysis work as directed by their customers.
They could genuinely take someone who is either a Senior within the Lab, or someone with a little more experience and has wider capability to design programmes of work. At the lower end of the salary scale, the ideal candidate will have a background that includes either:
- A strong scientific academic background, ideally in Chemistry or similar at degree or A level standard along with ideally 2 years+ in a similar lab-based role
- OR a higher-level academic background: Masters degree with 18 months lab experience or fresh PhD in a relevant analytical field
Along with:
- An understanding of chromatographic analysis techniques. GC/MS and/or LC/MS techniques are key to the role but any experience of FTIR, TGA, UV-VIS or GPC would be useful (and you will receive training on any areas you aren't familiar with)
- Experience working in a regulated/structured lab environment: GMP, GLP, ISO17025 would be useful
At the higher level of the salary scale, they would expect a little more relevant experience (3-5 years+) and a wider profile, to include acting as a Subject Matter Expert, Designing Packages of Work, more reporting and analysis, more interaction with customers, and perhaps more quality systems knowledge (CRO background, knowledge of GMP/GLP/ISO17025).
This is an important role within the lab to perform extractables and leachables based testing to fulfil their customer requirements. Ongoing training will be provided and such is their large-scale lab setup, career advancement opportunities are excellent.
