Are you the type of person who takes ownership of a problem rather than simply passing it on? Do you naturally look for ways to make things easier for customers and colleagues, and take pride in delivering a level of service that genuinely stands out?
Our client is looking for a proactive and highly customer-focused individual to join their Customer Care team. This is a varied role combining customer service, order management, problem-solving and administration, but attitude is just as important as previous office experience.
You might already work in customer service, sales support or administration, but equally, you could come from retail, hospitality or another fast-paced service environment where you have learned to think on your feet, manage competing priorities and go above and beyond for customers. What matters most is your work ethic, initiative and determination to get things right.
Job Description
- Take ownership of customer enquiries across telephone, email and online channels, providing a professional and helpful response.
- Process customer orders accurately and ensure customers receive timely updates.
- Proactively identify potential issues and resolve them before they become bigger problems.
- Investigate customer queries and complaints, taking responsibility for seeing them through to a successful conclusion.
- Support customers with online ordering, returns and general product enquiries.
- Maintain accurate customer and order information using internal systems and CRM/database tools.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve issues and improve the overall customer experience.
- Look for practical ways to improve processes, communication and service for both customers and colleagues.
Person Specification
- Has a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Is proactive, resourceful and confident using their own initiative.
- Takes ownership of problems and follows them through rather than simply escalating them.
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Is organised and able to manage a busy workload and changing priorities.
- Has good IT skills; experience using CRM, order-processing or administration systems would be advantageous.
- Works well under pressure and remains positive when dealing with challenging situations.
- Is a strong team player with a flexible, can-do approach.
- Previous office-based customer service experience would be useful, but it is not essential.
Our client offers a salary of £27,000–£30,000 plus a £3,000 bonus, alongside a supportive working environment and some flexibility for hybrid working. This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-led organisation where people are encouraged to take responsibility, contribute ideas and continually look for better ways of working.
If you are someone who notices what needs doing, takes ownership and genuinely cares about giving customers the best possible experience, we would be keen to hear from you.
