Our client is seeking a skilled Automatic Door Engineer to join their growing field team. You will work across London and the South, completing installations, servicing and repairs on a wide range of automatic door systems. Any additional exposure to gates, industrial doors, roller shutters or barriers would also be highly advantageous.
This role suits a confident engineer with strong technical knowledge, excellent fault-finding ability and the ability to deliver professional, efficient service on commercial sites. Supported by advanced scheduling software, proactive van re-stocking and a fully equipped vehicle, you will have everything you need to deliver first-time fixes and high-quality work.
Job Description- Install, service and maintain a wide range of commercial automatic door systems.
- Conduct fault-finding, repairs and upgrades in line with industry standards.
- Deliver professional customer service, liaising with clients to arrange and complete work safely and efficiently.
- Produce accurate job reports, RAMS documentation and follow safe working practices.
- Maintain company vehicle, stock levels and equipment to required standards.
- Participate in the 1-in-12 call-out rota to support out-of-hours requirements.
- Strong experience working with automatic doors - installation, repairs and planned maintenance.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
- Strong awareness of health and safety and safe working procedures.
- Confident communicator with good customer-facing capabilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- ADSA or BS EN16005 certification.
- Experience with gates, industrial doors, roller shutters, barriers or access control systems.
- Experience in commercial or high-security environments.
- Competence in minor associated fabric works following installations.
- £22-24/hr (£45-50K basic) for a 40-hour week, paid door-to-door.
- Overtime: 1.5x (evenings) and 2x (overnights/weekends).
- £250 call-out bonus on a 1-in-12 rota.
- Van with personal use, full kit, laptop and fuel card.
- Pension + private healthcare.
