We are now seeking a highly motivated Yard and Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy warehouse in Tolworth. This is a hands-on role, requiring strong leadership skills, stock management and operational expertise, and a dedication to maintaining high standards in efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 6:50am - 4:30pm in KT4 plus overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations: Oversee the preparation and completion of orders for delivery and collection (picking, rolling, cutting, wrapping, labelling, loading). Perform quality checks on grass rolls, ensuring correct batch, colour, and sizes. Manage stock accurately, including online updates, stock allocation, and inventory reporting. Receive and process incoming stock (unloading, labelling, and storing). Operate forklift and boom trucks safely, conducting preventive maintenance checks. Ensure optimal use of warehouse space and maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment. Conduct routine yard maintenance and ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are clean and well-maintained.
- Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a small team, delegating daily, weekly, and monthly tasks effectively. Ensure all teams leave for daily jobs promptly, equipped with the necessary tools, equipment, and uniforms. Maintain high team morale, fostering a positive and productive work culture.
- Health & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and guidelines. Report faults, safety issues, and maintenance requirements promptly to senior management.
- Customer Service: Strive to enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment. Uphold GRASSify's reputation for exceptional service by maintaining high operational standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a warehouse, stock management and operations management or similar role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate a team.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse equipment, including forklifts and boom trucks (certification preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail, especially when handling stock and fulfilling orders.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Health and safety experience in a warehouse environment.
- Physically fit and capable of handling the demands of a hands-on role.
- Diary management ensuring teams stay on track and jobs are completed and signed off.
