Our client, EFT Group are looking for a Bid Writer. The Bid Writer is responsible for producing high-quality tender submissions, framework applications and pre-qualification responses for construction-related opportunities. The successful candidate will work closely with pre-construction, estimating, operational, commercial and leadership teams to gather technical and commercial information, develop compelling written responses and manage submissions through to completion. This role combines strong written communication skills, commercial awareness and an understanding of construction delivery. It provides an opportunity to play a direct role in securing new business whilst helping the organisation present its expertise, capabilities and values in a clear and compelling way. The role supports the wider work-winning function and contributes directly to business growth through successful tendering activity.

Responsibilities

  • The postholder will review tender opportunities, interpret tender documentation and develop clear submission plans for each opportunity.
  • They will write, edit and proofread PQQs, SQs, ITTs, framework submissions, method statements, project case studies, executive summaries and supporting tender documentation to a consistently high standard.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across pre-construction, estimating, operational and commercial teams to gather information and convert technical content into clear, persuasive and client-focused responses.
  • The role includes working closely with the Bid Coordinator to manage submission programmes, coordinate reviews, maintain document compliance and ensure all bids are submitted accurately and on time.
  • The postholder will support bid strategy development, storyboarding and win theme creation, helping the business present a compelling and differentiated offer.
  • They will maintain and develop a library of approved responses, project examples, policies, case studies and supporting information that can be utilised across future submissions.
  • The role includes reviewing tender feedback, identifying lessons learned and continuously improving bid content and submission quality.
  • The successful candidate will contribute ideas that improve efficiency, strengthen processes and support the ongoing development of the bid function.
  • The postholder will confidently utilise technology, including AI-assisted drafting tools where appropriate, to improve response development and overall productivity.
