The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Product Director, Production to lead our Content Management and Editing Product Management groups. This role will play a critical part in defining and executing the vision and strategy for these core areas, ensuring Grass Valley remains the go-to partner for innovative, scalable media production solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership
    • Define and own the product vision and roadmap for Grass Valley’s content management and editing solutions, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and business objectives.
    • Provide strategic direction to Product Managers, guiding product development priorities and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  2. Product Management Oversight
    • Lead and support the team with the full lifecycle of product development, from concept and design to launch and iteration, ensuring delivery aligns with customer and market requirements.
    • Oversee the integration of content management and editing tools within the AMPP ecosystem, enhancing customer workflows and production capabilities.
  3. Commercial Accountability
    • Develop and manage product pricing, packaging, and performance forecasting to meet revenue and growth targets.
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create go-to-market strategies, sales enablement materials, and training resources.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, training, and customer support teams to ensure successful product development, launch, and adoption.
    • Represent the product lines in customer engagements, industry events, and internal meetings to communicate vision and gather feedback.
  5. Market Expertise and Innovation
    • Maintain a deep understanding of News and Sports content production workflows, including editing, content management, and publishing.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, customer pain points, and competitive landscapes to drive innovation and differentiation.
  6. Team Management
    • Manage and mentor a global team of Product Managers, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a culture of excellence.

What you’ll need to be successful

Qualifications

  1. Experience: 8+ years in product management, with a proven track record in the broadcast or media production industry. Direct experience in News and Sports content production workflows is essential.
  2. Leadership: Strong strategic leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional global teams.
  3. Technical Knowledge: Understanding of content management systems, editing tools, and media workflows. Familiarity with cloud-based production platforms is a plus.
  4. Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to manage product pricing, packaging, and performance forecasting to drive business outcomes.
  5. Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and geographies.
  6. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
