We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. In this role, you\’ll support either our Health & Disability or Children & Families functions.

What skills, knowledge, and experience will you need?

• Business application architecture design, modelling techniques, patterns, tools, and standards.
• Public cloud technologies, especially AWS, including design patterns, containers, tools, and best practices.
• CICD delivery methodologies and best practices.
• Relational, NoSQL, and open-source database design, technologies, and patterns.
• Extensive experience designing microservices, event-driven, and API-led architectures, recognizing and guiding best practices.

Your role

We seek skilled architects confident in working on products and services within complex digital environments. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will design, implement, and oversee IT solutions that enhance services for millions of DWP users.

You will have opportunities on two teams, delivering technical and architectural design for either the Health & Disability or Children & Families functions.

You will collaborate with engineers and other experts in multidisciplinary teams to create efficient solution designs that meet user needs, ensuring technical quality and adherence to DWP\’s Digital Blueprint, Enterprise Architecture, and Product Roadmaps.

You will also identify, share, iterate, and implement architecture patterns, and act as a communicator and leader, influencing decisions and simplifying complex concepts for governance, design boards, senior leaders, and your team.

Location: Digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield.

Hybrid Working: Mix of remote and face-to-face collaboration.

Pay: Up to £70,000.

Pension: Civil service pension with 28.97% employer contributions, over £16,000 annually.

Holidays: 26 days starting, rising to 31 days, plus up to 3 extra days per month on flexi-time and public holidays.
