We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Assistant Practitioner to join our dynamic Neurology Research team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking research aimed at understanding and treating neurological conditions. You will play a vital role, working closely with hospital and community teams and caring for participants taking part in clinical trials. Preference will be given to internal Trust staff as well as to NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can demonstrate recent, relevant experience as required by the Person Specification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of safe, compassionate care to participants.
  • Undertake assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of care under indirect supervision.
  • Utilise a problem-solving approach to patient care.
  • Promote and deliver health education within the trial area for participants and significant others.
  • Engage and interact with participants and significant others to include them in decision-making and care planning.
  • Implement and share good infection prevention and control practices.
  • Adhere to Trust infection control, decontamination and cleanliness policies.
  • Adhere to COSHH regulations.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of participants, significant others and visitors.
  • Support appropriate studies within PHNT/UHP and its partner organisations as appropriate.
  • Act as a role model for other staff members.
  • Contribute to the management of the safe working environment by minimising clinical risk.
  • Compile comprehensive records of care delivery as per best practice principles.
  • Record participant information accurately using Trust software systems.
  • Utilise highly complex, specialist equipment to provide treatment where required.
