About The Role
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Consultant Radiographer within its Breast Services team in the Women’s and Children’s Care Group. As a Consultant Radiographer you will work alongside Consultant Radiologists and Specialist Doctors to deliver expert clinical care across one‑stop symptomatic clinics, screening assessment clinics and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. Your independent responsibilities will include performing and reporting advanced breast imaging and interventional procedures, such as ultrasound‑guided and stereotactic biopsies, localisation techniques and mammogram reading.
Responsibilities
- Act as Responsible Assessor for the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP)
- Lead MDT discussions and present complex cases
- Supervise trainees and advanced practitioners
- Drive research, audit and service development initiatives
- Contribute to strategic decisions and clinical governance
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Breast Imaging and HCPC registration
- Extensive experience in breast ultrasound, interventional procedures and film reading
- Proven ability to lead, teach and innovate within a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for patient‑centred care and continuous improvement
- Desirable: formal teaching qualifications, clinical research experience and previous leadership roles within breast imaging services
