We are seeking an experienced Development Producer with a strong journalistic background and in-depth knowledge of the GCC region. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and possess a keen understanding of the political landscape across the GCC region.

Proven experience in radio or TV production, ability to structure compelling episodes, conduct thorough guest research and strategically align content with relevant guests. A journalistic mindset, attention to detail and editorial instinct are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Produce compelling, high-quality content tailored to the GCC audiences with cultural and political sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with content, strategy, and production teams to align with brand guidelines, strategic goals, and industry standards.
  • Generate and develop creative ideas, treatments, scripts, and briefs, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and audience engagement.
  • Oversee content creation from research and ideation to production and post-production, managing partners, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Provide cultural and audience insights, ensuring language, dialect, and style are appropriate.
  • Coordinate closely with social media teams to shape platform-specific content and monitor trends.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet client objectives.
  • Review, edit, and quality-check content, upholding accuracy, trust, and integrity.
  • Monitor performance, optimise production processes, and contribute to future campaign planning.
  • Maintain effective communication, build strong relationships, and support wider project needs.

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Understanding of and interest in the past and present social and political situation in the GCC region.
  • An instinctive understanding and appreciation of modern youth culture and cultural trends in the GCC region and specific countries.

Essential

  • Proven experience in a journalistic role, demonstrating strong research, interviewing, writing, and editorial skills, with an emphasis on factual accuracy and balanced reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the geo-political situation, cultural nuances, and social dynamics within the GCC region.
  • In depth knowledge of production and its processes including significant experience delivering high-quality industry standard content.
  • Understanding of the social media landscape and upcoming trends.
  • Experience of working in production in the GCC region.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work flexibly and at pace
  • Ability to multitask and handle tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently, but also as a strong team player, with good personal communication skills.
  • Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Desirable

  • Media and useful network of contacts in the GCC region is an advantage.
