We are seeking a talentedCopywriter, fluent in Arabic with a deep understanding of MENA politicsto produce insightful, accurate, and engaging content for our platforms. The ideal candidate will craft copy in Arabic, that reflects political nuance and resonates with Arabic-speaking audiences across the Middle East and North Africa.

Job Title: Copy Writer

Location: Primarily Remote – London based preferable

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, compelling, and contextually accurate Arabic copy for websites, newsletters, social media, and campaigns focusing on MENA politics.
  • Produce headlines, captions, and posts that drive audience engagement while maintaining political and cultural sensitivity.
  • Monitor political developments, current affairs, and emerging trends across the MENA region
  • Translate complex political topics and analyses into accessible and impactful content.
  • Collaborate with editors, political analysts, and design teams to ensure factual accuracy and high editorial standards.
  • Edit and proofread Arabic copy to maintain clarity, correct tone, and error-free content.
  • Uphold brand voice and editorial guidelines across all platforms.

Knowledge and Expertise

Situational Awareness:

  • Understanding of and interest in the past and present social and political situation in the MENA region
  • Native-level proficiency in written Arabic
  • Strong command of Modern Standard Arabic and familiarity with regional dialects (especially Levantine or Gulf dialects) where relevant
  • Demonstrated interest in MENA politics, international relations, or current affairs
  • Proven experience as a copywriter, journalist, or content creator writing about politics in Arabic.
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding of political discourse, terminology, and sensitivities specific to the MENA region
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Political Science, Middle Eastern Studies, Arabic Literature, Media, or a related field (preferred)
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work flexibly and at pace.
  • Ability to multitask and handle tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently, but also as a strong team player, with good personal communication skills
  • Previous experience in a MENA-focused newsroom, political research institute, think tank, or media agency
  • Fluency in English for internal communications and content referencing
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for Arabic digital publishing
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools to assess content performance
