We are seeking an experienced and politically engaged Content Manager / Writer, fluent in English and Arabic to lead the creation and management of content focused on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In this role, you will produce insightful, accurate, and engaging political content in both Arabic to inform and grow our audience across platforms.

Job Title: Content Manager / Writer

Type: Full Time

Location: Primarily remote – London based preferable

Responsibilities

  • Research, write, and edit high-quality articles, analysis, and reports on MENA political developments in Arabic, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity
  • Develop and manage a content calendar aligned with key regional events, elections, and trends; monitor news cycles to generate timely, relevant content
  • Coordinate with editors, designers, and social media teams to ensure content is optimised for maximum reach and engagement
  • Conduct interviews with regional experts, analysts, policymakers, and stakeholders
  • Analyse content performance metrics and use insights to refine strategies for audience growth and engagement
  • Ensure content is accurate, balanced, and aligned with editorial and brand standards
  • Oversee content updates, corrections, and archiving
  • Work closely with the Content Director to align output with strategic goals and industry standards
  • Use cultural insight and subject knowledge to inform content from brief through post-production
  • Maintain clear communication across teams, share feedback, and ensure timely delivery
  • Uphold brand values of accuracy, trust, and integrity
  • Contribute to content planning and strategy; support broader project needs as required

Knowledge and Expertise

  • Experience in content creation, journalism, or editorial roles focused on MENA politics or international affairs
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written); strong editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to explain complex regional issues clearly and objectively
  • Deep understanding of MENA political, cultural, and social dynamics
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital publishing standards
  • Degree in journalism, political science, Middle Eastern studies, international relations, or a related field (preferred)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Existing network of political analysts, journalists, and commentators specialising in the MENA region
  • Experience moderating or managing political discussions or communities online
