To ensure the timely and efficient completion of all Repro and Technical Design related production tasks and to support the Structural Design team in delivering innovative packaging design, whilst remaining aware of commercial and practical constraints. As an ambassador for the business, customer service should always be at the forefront of your thoughts.

Technical skills

  • To create Technical Design profiles for production, including Braille, Emboss, Foil and Varnishes.
  • To work alongside the Repro Team ensuring that all files required for production are available when required.
  • To engage with the Repro Team to help identify correct design profiles, from First Stage Artwork through to production.
  • To make technical “pre-flight” checks to Die Tooling requests to ensure that all tooling ordered will be fit for purpose.
  • To liaise with and develop working relationships with tooling manufacturers and other suppliers regarding Technical Design aspects of work in production.
  • Understand production capabilities of all sites.
  • Create layouts to maximize efficiency throughout the whole production process for multiple sites.
  • To ensure that all designs being sent out to customers for artwork conform to a standard specification, including 3D fold angles, and are “Best In Class”.
  • To liaise with customers and other members of staff regarding the production design aspects of VAVE projects.
  • To support the Sampling and Structural Design teams when required.
  • To liaise with all aspects of production to keep abreast of the latest packaging and machinery trends.
  • To help advise the Structural Design Team from a technical aspect to ensure cartons are designed to the most efficient format.
  • Explore and make recommendations on technical advances within the overall remit of the role.
  • Support a period of Transition, supporting with positivity and enthusiasm new ways of working, involving learning new software’s and processes.
  • Comfortable in working with site teams with physical and virtual interactions, collaborating with designers remotely on a regular basis.
  • To have an excellent working knowledge of Esko Artios CAD.
