JOB PURPOSE
To provide the hands-on leadership and management of all aspects of the business transport operation in order to ensure that operational service and regulatory requirements are met with customer relationships maintained. To provide a first-class service between our UK sites and customers. To manage the operation of all warehouse activities for both FG and Raw Materials either within the manufacturing sites or based at third party locations.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain a positive relationship with the Customer to ensure that the operation is able to effectively review any opportunities to enhance service.
• Maintain a positive relationship with Suppliers to ensure the group minimises its risks.
• Collaborate with the wider Group to ensure all opportunities to enhance service are exploited.
• Full budget responsibility for the Transport and Warehouse Operation
• Management/Implementation of warehouse management system to ensure stock accuracy
• To ensure a robust development plan is in place and delivered for the Transport and Warehouse teams.
• Transport and warehouse operational performance – service and budget
• Lead produce and present compelling business cases for the delivery of Transport and warehouse innovation initiatives.
• Management of storage for inter-company work transfer.
• Ensure that a full O License accountability is maintained across all locations.
• Ensure that a continuous improvement culture is embedded within the Transport & Warehouse operation.
• Ensure effective communication exists between sales staff, the transport office Warehouse staff and the production management team.
• Provide direction and structure to all recruitment processes.
• Ensure the warehouse activities work effectively with the production/operations manager to get the product ready to meet our timed deliveries
• Ensure that full and accurate stock control of our on-site storage and our off site storage facilities exists.
• To develop and keep your teams well motivated and informed of any changes
• To be able to communicate at all levels up to and including directors
• Ensure that in-house warehouses maintaining a very high standard of housekeeping.
• Ensure that all external warehouses are audited to the correct quality standard.
SKILLS/QUALS
• Excellent Communication both written and verbal
• Excellent attention to detail
• Highly Organised & motivated
• Good skills with Word/excel/Outlook etc (Microsoft applications)
• Able to work under pressure
• Previous experience in a FMCG environment or similar
• Must have a good geographical knowledge of the country
• Minimum of 5 years’ People Management experience
• Minimum of 5 years Transport & Warehouse management experience
• KPI experience
• Budget knowledge and experience
• FLT license beneficial but not essential
• Ability to manage relations with customers
• Full driving license (role will require travel between sites)

• Able to effectively prioritise and adapt to a varied and changeable workload
