JOB PURPOSE
Develop and improve the Health, Safety & Environmental culture across the two North East sites. Ensure Company complies with its legal obligations. Work with key stakeholders in helping them understand their role in Health, Safety & Environmental Management.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a positive Health, Safety & Environmental culture.
- Conduct investigations into claims working alongside the insurance loss adjusters.
- Improve and sustain audit performance and ensure NCRs from HSE audits are actioned, recorded, and closed out.
- Support the CI QA & HSE Manager during Regulatory Inspections and ensure requirements are actioned, recorded, and closed out satisfactorily.
- Keep up to date on legal, local, and other requirements that may affect the company.
- Prepare hazard mitigations, develop, and implement risk assessments, COSHH and procedures.
- Continually reduce accidents and incident rates by proactive solutions.
- Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and investigated correctly.
- Conduct accident reviews and assist with back to work programmes.
- Collect and report HSE performance daily, weekly, monthly as required.
- Implement and update HSE policies and procedures.
- Hold monthly HSE Committee meetings.
- Develop Safe Systems of Work with the Operational Team.
- Identify any HSE Training requirements alongside HR Department.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Experience in ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001.

- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the business.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
