Role Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team and support production across multiple UK sites. You will play a critical role in ensuring that all machinery is maintained, repaired, and continuously improved to maximise reliability and efficiency. This is a hands-on role involving effective fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and the development of long-term engineering solutions to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant and production equipment.
- Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns.
- Work in compliance with all legal requirements, health & safety standards, and company procedures.
- Identify, source, and request required spare parts.
- Maintain accurate and timely records within the maintenance management system.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical engineering drawings.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
- Lead small-scale engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support, mentor, and develop engineering apprentices.
- Work effectively within a continental shift pattern.
Performance Indicators
- Accuracy, speed, and effectiveness of fault diagnosis and repair.
- Quality and reliability of work carried out ("right first time").
Skills & Qualifications
- Time-served, multi-skilled engineer with 3–5+ years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience with print, cutting, and converting machinery is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering.
- Proven ability to design and implement innovative engineering solutions.
- Experience collaborating with OEM technicians where required.
- Computer literate, with confidence using stock control systems and spreadsheets.

- Highly responsible, reliable, and able to perform under pressure.
- Strong communicator with a flexible and professional approach.
- Punctual, presentable, and committed to excellent attendance.
