The Product Test and Diagnosis team requires more expertise and experience in the area of board / PCBA hardware test as part of our mission to deliver the high quality manufacturing test solutions that our advanced technology products require. The role requires close interaction with the hardware design team and other parts of the PTD team in order to define and develop appropriate test solutions using techniques such as boundary scan and embedded functional test.
The Product Test and Diagnosis team's role is to detect and manage hardware defects that arise from the manufacture and use of our products. This covers chips, boards and finished systems and takes place both in the manufacturing sites and in the field.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Analysis of PCB design testability
- Analysis of PCB design susceptibility to manufacturing defects
- Definition and development of test solutions based on that analysis
- Deployment and support of tests in factory and field environments
Candidate Profile
- Experience in manufacturing test of advanced electronic systems
- Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of electronics
- Thorough understanding of SMT / PCB manufacturing processes and failure mechanisms
- Thorough understanding of JTAG 1149 boundary scan test techniques
- Experience in the local and remote use of test instruments (Oscilloscopes, DMM's, Clock generators, SMU's, PSU's, etc.)
- Ability to work with internal teams such as software, silicon design and hardware design
- Ability to work with external board test partners
- Ability to solve problems in complex electronic systems
- Experience of microcontroller development / debug environments
- Experience of some or all of Python, Linux, Bash and Git
- Several years of experience in a relevant environment
- Appreciation of AOI and AXI process capability
- Experience in programming and using board test systems including Bed-of-nails ICT systems
- Experience in the implementation of ISP and OBP solutions
