The Senior YouTube Strategist leads the strategy, audience and commercial growth of the National Theatre’s presence on YouTube. It is a key role in the Digital Department’s evolving Distribution and Social strategy, and understanding of global, mass, and younger audiences.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following
- Significant experience as a YouTube strategist, channel manager, or closely equivalent role, with a demonstrable track record of growing a YouTube channel's subscribers, watch time and engagement
- Deep, current understanding of the YouTube algorithm, platform mechanics and how packaging (titles, thumbnails, metadata) affects discoverability and performance
- Strong data literacy - fluent in YouTube Studio and other analytics tools, with a track record of using data to shape content and packaging decisions
- Clear understanding of YouTube as a distinct medium - neither a pure distribution platform nor a pure social platform - and what that means for content strategy, pacing and community-building
- Experience developing strategy across a range of content lengths and formats, from short-form through to long-form/full-length content. Demonstrate an understanding of YouTube’s broader digital content landscape (Creators, Podcasts etc.)
- Experience building and nurturing on-platform community and audience loyalty, not just optimising for view counts.
If that sounds like you, this may be the role for you!
