Grantham Tennis Club is one hour ten minutes from London by train, 40 minutes drive to Nottingham, and 45 minutes to Leicester and Lincoln. Work can be one day or up to seven days a week, with weekend cover required at times. Start date: September 2026 or earlier if possible.
Responsibilities
- Deliver group lessons for both tennis and padel programmes.
- Provide individual lessons to players on the current waiting list.
- Teach school and nursery groups and run community sessions.
- Support the launch of the padel programme on the two park courts.
- Help manage the club’s busy scheduling and maintain high standards of coaching.
Compensation
£15 to £20 per group lesson. Individual lesson rate is set by the coach.
Person Specification
- First Aid, safeguarding and enhanced DBS certification.
- Passionate about tennis and coaching.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and reliable with a can-do attitude.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Excellent timekeeping and interpersonal skills.
- High personal standards and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to inspire and engage over 1,200 club members.
- Ambassador for the club and build good working relationships with teams, parents, schools and community groups.
- Positive, action-oriented, and motivated to improve self and others.
- Knowledgeable about tennis, coaching and making a difference.
- Can run appropriate sessions with the right balance of focus and fun.
- Computer literate – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability.
