Full-Time Veterinary Nurse — Ward-Based (Ophthalmology focussed)

Hours: Full-time, within the hours of 7:30am - 6:30pm

On calls: 1 in 8 week nights on call (theatre based) training provided.

Role Overview: We’re excited to be expanding our veterinary nursing team and are currently looking to welcome experienced nurses to join us. As our practice continues to grow, we are particularly keen to hear from nurses with a strong background in ophthalmology. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced cases in a supportive, collaborative environment where your expertise will be truly valued. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ophthalmic consultations and diagnostic procedures alongside our specialist ophthalmology vet.
  • Provide inpatient care and post-operative monitoring for ophthalmology.
  • Educate and support our current nursing team with ophthalmology.
  • Provide attentive nursing care to inpatients, including administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting with ward-based procedures such as blood sampling, intravenous catheter placement, wound management, and diagnostic support.
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the ward area.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Registered Veterinary nurse (RVN) with experience in ophthalmology.
  • Strong clinical and patient care skills, with experience in ward-based work.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
