We are expanding our Ward nursing team here at Granta Veterinary Specialists. We currently have two ward based positions available for compassionate and skilled veterinary nurses.
Location: Granta Veterinary Specialists, Linton
Salary: Minimum salary £31,885 with progressive salary scale based on experience and qualifications.
Hours: Full-time, hours between 7:30am - 6:30pm
On calls: 1 in 8 week nights on call (theatre based) training provided
Weekends: 1 in 5 rota
About Us: Granta Veterinary Specialist is a dedicated veterinary referral practice committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients. We take pride in our modern facilities, experienced team, and a supportive, collaborative work environment.
Role Overview:
- Ward nurse - procedure focussed to join our procedures team but also assist in our wards 2 days a week. This role focuses heavily on patient care and clinical procedures (such as endoscopy, imaging and medicine procedures), ensuring the well-being and comfort of our inpatients. You will play a key role in monitoring, medicating, and assisting with various procedures, working closely with our vets and fellow nurses.
- Ward nurse - ophthalmology focussed. You will play a key role in assisting with ophthalmic consultations and diagnostic procedures alongside our specialist ophthalmology vet. You will provide inpatient care and post-operative monitoring for ophthalmology patients and educate and support our current nursing team with ophthalmology.
Requirements:
- Registered veterinary nurse (RVN)
- Experience (preferred).
- Strong clinical and patient care skills, with experience in ward-based work.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare.
