We are looking for an Out of hours Registered Veterinary Nurse to cover maternity leave.
Location: Cambridge Night Vets at Granta Veterinary Specialists, Linton
Salary: £37,900 per annum.
Shift Pattern: You will work on a repeating 21-day cycle comprising seven night shifts, one Saturday shift, and one Sunday shift. The shifts are defined as follows:
- Night shifts: 18.30 to 7.30
- Saturday shifts: 11.00 to 18.45
- Sunday shifts: 7.30 to 18.45
In addition to the standard rota, you are required to work up to 156 hours on an ad hoc basis, as reasonably requested by the Practice, to cover absences, holidays, or operational needs. Your average weekly working time is calculated at approximately 40 hours over the course of a full year.
Role Overview: As a CNV Night Nurse, you’ll be at the centre of everything – from emergency triage to inpatient care and anaesthesia. You’ll work alongside our vets and have access to the facilities (and cases) of a multi-disciplinary referral hospital.

Requirements:
- Qualified Registered Veterinary nurse (RVN) with ECC or first opinion experience and confidence in anaesthesia.
- Strong clinical and patient care skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Calm, compassionate communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for animal care and welfare and nurses who thrive in a team and love variety.
