As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of financial control and reporting ensuring the business has accurate, timely and meaningful financial information.
You will work closely with the Finance Director, Managing Director and wider leadership team, providing clear financial insight and challenging the business where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly financial reporting and month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and robust financial controls.
- Own balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, provisions, accruals and other key financial control processes.
- Oversee cashflow forecasting and analysis reporting into Norcros Group on a weekly basis.
- Manage and develop the management accounting and transactional finance teams, establishing clear objectives, accountability and development plans.
- Ensure compliance with Group financial policies and accounting standards.
- Work closely with the Norcros finance team on regulatory reporting requirements including VAT returns, EC sales and tax analysis.
- Provide insightful analysis of financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
- Responsible for accurate reporting of inventory on a standard cost accounting basis and providing inventory analysis on a regular basis.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls and processes across the business.
- Act as the finance lead for the continued development of Epicor Cloud Finance, working closely with IT and key stakeholders.
- Finance champion for the development and adoption of AI, automation and digital solutions, ensuring technology delivers measurable improvements to financial reporting, controls and processes.
The successful candidate’s profile
- Skill and Qualifications
- ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Strong experience in financial control and management reporting.
- Strong commercial awareness and a desire to understand the wider business.
- Experience of ERP systems and a genuine interest in finance technology and automation.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and continuous development.
- Experience within a manufacturing, distribution or product-led environment.
- Eager to lead and collaborate with the team on a group and individual basis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
