Heating & Plumbing Product Engineer at Grant UK

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Manager to join the Technical Department team based in Swindon.

The role requires a candidate with a strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes, technical standards related to the plumbing and heating industry, and strong problem-solving skills as they will be responsible for assisting in project management to field trial stage.

The candidate will also be involved in finding solutions to Quality Control issues, representing the Company on various external working groups, physically installing and scrutinising heating appliances, and other associated equipment. The workload is subject to strict turnaround schedules and is demanding but is also rewarding.

As the role requires the candidate to work with multiple disciplines of the company, the potential candidate must also be an effective communicator.

Essential skills needed are:

  • Installation and maintenance of home heating systems
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Abilityto work to a very exacting standard within specified time constraints.
  • Good command of numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes.
  • Understanding of how technical standards govern product development and selection
  • Ability to follow and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematic drawings.
  • An Engineering based qualification is preferred but not essential
  • Understanding of Renewable Heating – eg: Heat Pumps, Hybrids,controls, system design etc
  • F-Gas, Unvented, Water Regulations, OFTEC and/or Gas Safe qualifications
