Tax Executive – Employer Solutions
About the Role
We are looking for a Tax Executive to join our growing Employer Solutions team in Northern Ireland.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a broad range of clients, from owner-managed businesses and private equity-backed companies to large corporates, providing employment tax compliance and advisory services.
As part of our expanding all-Ireland Employer Solutions practice, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of employment tax matters while developing your technical expertise and building strong client relationships.
Working closely with managers and senior team members, you will assist in delivering services including:
- PAYE compliance and employer compliance processes.
- Employee expenses and Benefits-in-Kind reviews.
- P11D preparation and year-end reporting, including Employment Related Securities (ERS) returns, PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSAs) and Short-Term Business Visitor (STBV) reporting.
- Off-payroll working, employment status (including IR35), and agency worker matters.
- Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
- Termination payments.
- Salary sacrifice and Optional Remuneration Arrangements (Op RA).
- National Minimum Wage compliance.
- Employment tax risk assessments and health checks.
- HMRC disclosures and employer compliance reviews.
- Cross-border employment tax and internationally mobile employees, including A1 applications and Appendix 5 agreements.
- Design and implementation of share incentive arrangements, including EMI, CSOP and growth share plans.
- Employment tax support on buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence projects.
- Main Responsibilities

- Build strong relationships with clients and develop an understanding of their employment tax requirements.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Employer Solutions teams in Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK.
- Deliver high-quality employment tax compliance services and meet agreed deadlines.
- Prepare technical reports and client correspondence with support from managers.
- Maintain high standards of quality and compliance with the firm's risk management procedures.
- Assist in managing work in progress and ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently.
- Contribute to business development activities and identify opportunities to support clients.
- Take ownership of your professional development and continue to build your technical knowledge.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have
- ATT qualified or studying towards CTA.
- A minimum of two years' experience within the tax department of a professional services firm.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and work on their own initiative.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.
- A genuine ambition to develop a successful career in tax.
