The Private Assurance Team works with a huge variety of ultra-high net worth individuals, ensuring their personal tax compliance obligations are met. We build trusted long-term relationships with clients, taking the time to understand their needs and building an understanding of their financial affairs providing a bespoke service to help them achieve their goals.

A look into the role
As a Tax Technician within our Private Assurance team:
- You will be trusted with a degree of autonomy in delivering your work, empowering you to take initiative and apply your judgement whilst knowing dedicated support is always available.
- You will manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for the management of the tax return process for your clients, under the guidance and support of your manager
- You will prepare tax returns and computations for manager review. Using your initiative to conduct well-supported technical research applying relevant legislation, tax authoritative guidance, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) manuals and the firm’s resources to effectively generate an opinion.
- You will engage directly with clients and HMRC, developing relationships built on trust, accuracy, and responsiveness. You will provide clear, timely communication and become a reliable point of contact for day-to-day tax matters.
- You will take responsibility for driving the tax return process for your clients, proactively managing deadlines, organising and prioritising day to day tasks and considering Work in Progress management/recoveries on assignments.
- You will contribute to a culture of collaboration becoming a valued and proactive member of a specialised team. Developing and building strong internal relationships by networking within the tax service line and other service lines, gaining insights and sharing knowledge to enhance overall service delivery.
- This role is key to the operation of our private tax function, contributing to Private Assurance’s wider goals whilst maintaining professional excellence. As part of this, you will be supported with structured learning opportunities, on-the-job coaching, and exposure to varied work that will accelerate your technical and personal development.
Knowing you’re right for us
Joining us as a Tax Technician, the minimum criteria you’ll need is experience in Personal Tax, A-Levels or equivalent, good grades in Maths and English GCSE, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
- ATT qualification (or working towards) – study support is available
- Self-motivated and driven
- Highly organised with an ability to work to deadlines and manage expectations
